Starting from June 13th, a new route is made available for passengers travelling via Lisbon Airport, as the Greek flag carrier Aegean Airlines launches a direct flight between the capitals of Greece and Portugal.

Initially, the Athens-Lisbon flight will be operated twice weekly, on Mondays and Fridays. A month later, as of July 14, the third frequency – Wednesdays – will be added.

The time schedules for the new route are:

ATH – LIS

LIS – ATH
departure: 00h35min – arrival: 06h45min

On the route Lisbon – Athens, flights will the depart on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

The first direct flight between Lisbon and Athens was met with a great interest from passengers both in Greece and Portugal. Although initially this route was meant to be seasonal only, the carrier has already announced an extended period of operation, with only a short suspension during the month of January and February (low season in Greece).

The new route by Aegean Airlines will allow to save a considerable amount of time on trips between Portugal and Greece (both continental and inlands).
