Cheap flights Warsaw (WAW) – Lisbon (LIS) – Wizzair adds a new route to Lisbon Airport
The Portuguese and Polish capitals are about to get connected by a low-cost route by Wizzair. The Hungarian budget carrier has announced new routes to be added to its network in Warsaw Airport in 2015.
Warsaw-Lisbon twice weekly
Starting from 29 of March 2015, Wizzair’s cheap flights from Warsaw-Chopin Airport (WAW) to Lisbon Airport (LIS) will be available twice weekly, on Mondays and Fridays, in the evening hours (flights leave from Warsaw Airport at 21.30 and is scheduled to arrive at Lisbon Airport at 00:40).
The new route fills in a gap in the market of low-cost flights to Lisbon a very attractive destination for Polish tourists.

Budget flights Warsaw-Lisbon offered in the past by Centralwings carrier, now closed, were discontinued in 2008.
Wizzair announced the prices of the WAW-LIS route to start at PLN199 (approx. £38) on way. With bookings made well in advance (the tickets are already on sale), the new service can be a serious competitor to the only alternative solution at the moment: Warsaw-Lisbon route operated by TAP Portugal/LOT Polish Airlines.
Wizzair growing in Warsaw Airport
The route to Lisbon is not the only addition to Wizzair’s flight network in Warsaw-Chopin.
The airline, rapidly expanding Poland’s main airport, also added routes toTurin and Verona (popular winter destinations for ski holiday) as well as routes to southern Europe, amongst them:Malta, Alicante, Catania and Larnaca. Wizzair offers also frequent flights between Warsaw and London-Luton, with a total of 24 flights per week.
Wizzair’s main competitor in Poland, Ryanair, operates from the secondary airport of Warsaw, Modlin Airport (MWI). As per mid 2014, there were no Ryanair flights from Poland to Portugal.
